Meet the FredWorks Board of Directors:

sarendtbw Scott Arendt – President
Scott Arendt is Electrical Engineer for the US Navy. He received his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Buffalo, where he is originally from. He currently lives in Fredericksburg with his wife and two young daughters. He has a passion for all things robotic and frequently works with local schools and libraries on engineering and robotics education. When he’s not doing those things, he enjoys building his own robots, playing video games and reading.
philips Jason Philips – Vice President
Jason Phillips is an Electrical Engineer, Physicist, and IT Specialist dedicated to STEM education. He currently works as an Engineer/Physicist for the US Navy, is the President and Founder of ProtoFire Labs, and serves as VP and Head of Research and Design for Bluecreek Technology. He received his BS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Physics from VCU in Richmond VA. He enjoys all things engineering and physics, especially Embedded System Design, Circuits, Robotics, 3D Printing/Milling, and Linux. He stays active with Rock Climbing, Hiking, Mountain Biking, and Racing his motorcycle.

kohlhaas Joe Kohlhaas – Secretary
Joe Kohlhaas teaches Physics at Fredericksburg Academy and coaches the FA Robotics Club, whose members often visit FredWorks. This year Joe organized Tech Crush Tuesdays, a six-week celebration of technology shared between FA and FredWorks. Joe enjoys circuits, Arduinos, and 3D printing. He is currently planning a one-day trebuchet build with the robotics students!

darden Daryle Darden – Member At Large
Daryle is a local physician, business owner, and father of 2 active boys who are no strangers to the Fredworks classes and open hack nights. Among other activities, he is also heavily involved in another local non-profit, The Doctor Yum Project. At Fredworks, he helps with website updates, makerspace chores, and participates in the open hack nights.
