Makerspace helps Fredericksburg Academy Make Science Fun

The path to Fredericksburg Academy’s new Makerspace began when Head of School Karen Moschetto asked Tony Durso, head of the upper school, what he wanted for students.
Durso said he wanted a space with “toys and tools to inspire kids.”
“FA had a desire to start a Makerspace, but what they didn’t have was gear or expertise,” said David Hyland–Wood, a software engineer and the parent of an academy student. “And FredWorks had gear and expertise, but they didn’t have a permanent space.”
